Child visitation in the state of Florida
In Florida, when parents divorce or split up, one of the most important decisions they have to make is regarding child visitation. There are a few different things that need to be considered when making this decision, including the child’s age and wishes, how close the parents live to each other, and how much time each parent spends with the child during the week.
Visitation Schedule
If both parents agree on a visitation schedule, it will likely be approved by the court. However, if there is a disagreement between the parents, the court will decide what’s in the best interests of the child. In some cases, one parent may be awarded sole custody of the child and be responsible for making all decisions about their care, while in other cases, the parents may share joint custody and both have an equal say in decisions about their child.
Types Of Visitation
There are a few different types of visitation arrangements that can be approved by the court, including alternating weekends, every-other-weekend visits, weekdays during the school year, and every other weekend during the summer, or visiting one parent for a certain number of days each week or month.
